Differences in Cross Section Structures

This difference gives several signs which include:

Dicot Plants

This plant has:

  1. No pith
  2. The phloem is outside the xylem and the xylem is in the center of the root
  3. Xylem vessels have thick walls, few fibers, but have a lot of paranchyma.
  4. Periskel consists of a layer of cells.
  5. The boundaries of the calyptra as well as the root tips are not clear

Monocot Plants

This plant has:

  1. Do not have cambium
  2. Boundary ends of the root and also class caliptra
  3. The periscle consists of several cells and can form lateral roots
  4. The folem and xylem are numerous and alternate
  5. Large core and pith (well developed)

Stem Section Differences

These differences include:

Dicot Plants

In this plant can be found:

  1. There are no cavities in the carrier file
  2. There is no sheath carrier file
  3. There is phloem parenchyma
  4. Secondary growth caused by the formation of the lateral meristem
  5. The size of the carrier file is uniform
  6. Single epidermal tissue has a thick cuticulture and there are hairs in the epidermis
  7. The hypodermis is generally collenchyma
  8. The collenchyma vessels are small, have many fibers, and remain parenchyma few
  9. The growth of the xylem which forms a circular circle can generally be used to determine the age of the dicot plant.

Monocot Plants

In this plant can be found:

  1. Can be found in secondary plants
  2. Absence of hair in the epidermis
  3. The carrier file is protected by the carrier file sheath
  4. Absence of phloem parenchyma
  5. The layer at the bottom of the epidermis (hypodermis) is generally screlenchyma
  6. The sizes of the transport files are different

Differences in the Parts of the Leaf

In this section you can find out:

Dicot Plants

In this plant you get:

  1. Stomada which can only be found in the lower epidermis
  2. Xylem vessels are numerous, consisting of metaxylem and protoxylem
  3. Dorsiventral
  4. Mesophyll tissue can be differentiated into palisade tissue and also spongy parenchyma
  5. The bundle sheath is formed from collenchyma

Monocot Plants

Definition of Dicot and Monocot Plants and Their Differences

Can be found:

  1. Fan cells (bulliform cells/motor) in the upper epidermis have the function of being able to open and close the leaf mouths
  2. Isobilateral
  3. The sheath of the carrier bundle is made of sclerenchyma
  4. The xylem vessels consist of 2 metaxylem and also 2 protoxylem
  5. Stomata are found in the upper and lower epidermis

Here's an explanation about Definition of Dicot and Monocot Plants and their Differences explained by knowledge. By keeping differences between dicots and monocots can give a variety of types of plants. Hopefully useful 🙂
