Types of Library Collections
As for the type of library collection according to Yulia (1993:3) there are 4 types of library collections, namely:
1. Print Works
the library collection in the form of printed works is a result of human thought which is set forth in printed form. For example like:
- Books are library materials which are a unified whole and most importantly contained in the library collection. Based on the standard of UNESCO The minimum thickness of the book consists of at least 49 pages, not including leather or book jackets. Examples are fiction books, textbooks, and reference books.
- Serial publications are library materials that are planned to be published continuously with a certain publication period. 2. Non-Print Works
the library collection of non-printed works is the result of a human thought that is not expressed in the form of a book or magazine or other text.
