History of NATO

In World War II, the United States, Britain, and France, which had liberal democratic ideas, united with the Soviet Union, which had communist ideas, in the allied bloc.

In fact, liberal democracy (liberalism) and communism are two opposing views but in World War II the two ideologies were united because they had the same enemy, namely fascism.

After their enemy is defeated, the two engage in a fight again. The conflict then gave rise to two blocks, namely the West Block (USA) and the East Block (Soviet Union) and known as the Cold War (The Cold War).

The NATO organization was formed as part of the cold war that took place in the Western and Eastern Blocs. NATO is a regional organization that focuses on the defense of North Atlantic countries.
