Types of Double Words and Examples in Indonesian
In the use of words in a sentence, sometimes there is repetition of words. Good in using basic words and arranging them in sentence form. The word that is repeated is called a double word. The meaning of the word double is a process of repeating words or words that are formed or duplicated in whole, the same or in part. Types and Examples of Double Words
There are 4 (four) types of double words, including:
1. Whole/whole/full double word
That is a double word in which all the basic words are repeated without the slightest change. Generally, this double word is marked (-), and the root word can be a noun, a verb and an adjective (adjective). Example:
- Name words: chairs, umbrellas, friends.
- My friends and I were on vacation at the Surabaya zoo.
- The chairs in the meeting room were already full of visitors.
- Verbs: take a walk, eat, cut into pieces.
- The teachers eat dinner after the parent's meeting.
- The employees use the break time to take a short walk in the park next to the office.
- Adjectives: clever, evil, big.

2. Pseudo double word
This double word is a double word with a special meaning. The repetition of the word is the same as the full double word, it's just that the full double word repetition can mean singular or plural, while the repetition of pseudo-doubles does not mean singular or plural, because it takes the form of a name from the word basically. Examples: spiders, butterflies, fireflies, sheep, turtles, ondel-ondel, empek-empek, kites, and so on.

3. word half double
That is a double word whose root word is repeated in tribe first. Usually the first vowel of the word changes to the letter -e. Example:

4. Double words rhyming/rhyming
That is a double word whose basic word repetition follows the same sound (rhyme), either at the beginning, end, or in its entirety. Example:

- Double words that rhyme at the end: rich, side dishes.

5. Double words with affixes
That is a double word whose base word is added with an affix, either at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of the word. Example:
- Double words with affixes at the beginning of words: jump around, make up, play around.
- Mr. Manan's children are playing beside his house
- The squirrel in the zoo jumps from one coconut tree to another.
- Double words affixed in the middle of the word: hereditary, sewing, shoulder to shoulder.
- The silver ring on Nirmala's ring finger has been passed down for generations from her daughter's great-grandmother.

- Double words with affixes at the end of words: herbs, perfumes.
