June Rain first published by Grasindo, in 1994, contains a selection of poems that I wrote from 1964 to 1994. Rhyme-the poem comes from from several books of poetry, namely Your sorrow is Eternal (1969), Blade (1974), Aquarium (1974), and Paper boat (1984). In addition, there are a number that have never been published in a poetry book before. June Rain had been reprinted several times, and each time it was reprinted there were slight changes in the form of corrections, additions, or deletions of the poem. This book also underwent changes, especially regarding the amount and time of writing. Several poems written since 1959 were added to provide a more complete picture of the poems I wrote up to 1994. Other changes generally involve only minor corrections of typos or typos.

I need to say thank you to Mr. Pamusuk Eneste who initially encouraged me to collect my poems in an anthology. I would also like to thank the composers and songwriters who have used the dozens of poems in this book so that they can also be 'heard' in the form of songs, classical or popular. I will mention just a few: Umar Muslim, Aug. Arya Dwipayana, Budiman Hakim, Reda Gaudiamo, Ananda Sukarlan, Nana Tatyana, Bambang Wibawarta, Ari Malibu, Neno Warisman, Mimi, and others. I should also say that this book, June Rain, I chose based on the title of my first recorded cassette which was attempted by most of the names I mentioned earlier, many of whom were still students at the Faculty at that time. Literature University Indonesia, where I teach. It is their efforts that have helped the dissemination of my poetry, as well as being an important part in the development of the transfer process, namely the musicalization of poetry, in this country.
