One day, the two queen consorts named Dewi Naganingrum and Dewi Pengreyep were carrying a child in their womb at the same time. Time just flew by, and Dewi Pengreyep gave birth to her first child. The empress finally gave birth to a handsome boy named Hariangbanga. Some time later, Dewi Naganingrum also gave birth to a son who was no less handsome than Dewi Pengreyep's child.

Seeing the birth of Dewi Naganingrum's son, Dewi Pengreyep was not happy and instead felt jealous and afraid that the daughter of Dewi Naganingrum will take over the throne of the kingdom from his son. An evil ploy was devised by Dewi Pengreyep to separate Dewi Naganingrum from her newly born child. Finally, Dewi Pengreyep exchanged Dewi Naganingrum's baby for a dog and threw the baby somewhere.

When he was about to visit the baby that was born by Dewi Naganingrum, the king was surprised because his son was a dog. The king was furious and ordered his governor to expel and kill Dewi Naganingrum. The patih was unable to refuse the king's orders and the patih took Dewi Naganingrum away from the palace.

On the way, the patih decided not to kill Dewi Naganingrum because he couldn't bear it. Instead, the patih made a hut in the forest for Dewi Naganingrum to live in. Meanwhile, the patih then smeared his sword with animal blood to impress that he had killed one of the king's consorts. The patih then returned to the palace and gave a false report to the king that he had killed one of his consorts.

Elsewhere, baby from Dewi Naganingrum has been found by a husband and wife who are in their old age and do not have any children. The husband and wife then picked up the baby and took care of it until it grew up and was named Ciung Wanara.

Long story short, Ciung Wanara has grown up and he also knows who his real parents are. He then looked for his mother and managed to find him. After that, Ciung Wanara also received news that the king of the Galuh Pakuan kingdom was holding a cockfighting competition. Without further ado, Ciung Wanara went straight to the kingdom of Galuh Pakuan and challenged the king to a cockfight.

Brief story, Ciung Wanara managed to defeat the king and the king gave a gift to Ciung Wanara. Before the gift was given, the king asked who Ciung Wanara really was and what was his purpose in coming to Galuh Pakuan. Ciung Wanara then replied that he was looking for a chicken egg that had been incubated by its mother, but the egg disappeared before the mother could see the egg. Hearing those words, for some reason the king remembered the goddess Naganingrum and her son. After that, the king also gave a gift to Ciung Wanara in the form of half the kingdom of Galuh Pakuan.

During his reign in half the kingdom of Galuh Pakuan, Ciung Wanara succeeded in exposing Dewi Pengreyep's crimes to his mother and Dewi Pengreyep was put in prison. Seeing this, Raden Hariangbanga was furious and challenged Ciung Wanara to fight. In that fight, Ciung Wanara defeated Raden Hariangbanga.

Since then, Ciung Wanara still leads half the kingdom of Galuh Pakuan and also brings his mother and his two stepparents to the kingdom.
