"Well, our bus has arrived," he said when a dark blue bus came to our stop. We got on the bus. He and I sat to the right of the fourth row. After sitting down, we didn't talk much. “Wow, that building is nice, if you look at it from here," he started the conversation. "Well, yes, yes," I replied.
Long story short, we arrived at our destination stop. "I'm going home first," he said softly to me. "Okay, be careful," I said.
After parting with him, there was only one feeling that welled up in my chest: pleasure. Finally, there are also people I can talk to, both at the bus stop and on the bus.
I arrived home. When I entered the living room, I saw my father watching the news on television. "A 17-year-old girl was killed when she was hit by a motorbike while crossing Jalan Kenangan," the news reporter said.
Wait, Memory Street? Isn't that the path that Gita will take after boarding the bus? Was the girl the reporter meant Gita?
Tears started to appear in my eyes.
