Types of Foreign Affixes in Indonesian

Affixes or affixes according to the Big Dictionary Language Online Indonesian is a bound form which, when added to a basic word or basic form, will change the grammatical meaning (such as prefix, infix, confix, or suffix).   • Eka-. Example: eka + language -> ekalanguage
• Suffix.
  • –wan. Example: sport + -wan -> sportsman
  • –wati. Example: model + -wati -> mannequin
  • –man. Example: art + man -> artist
  • –nita. Example: singer + woman -> singer

3. Affixes derived from English, consists of a prefix and a suffix.

• Prefix.
  • Anti-. Example: anti + communist -> anti-communist
  • Pro-. Example: pro + democracy -> pro-democracy
  • Sub-. Example: sub + section -> subsection
• Suffix.
  • –is. Example: loyal + -is -> loyalist
  • –if. Example: description + -if -> descriptive
  • –ization. Example: national + -ization -> nationalization
