Principal Amount and Derivative Amount and Explanation (Complete) – Quantities in physics are divided into two, namely basic quantities and derived quantities. What is meant by basic quantity is a quantity whose units have been determined and are not derived from other quantities. Meanwhile, derived quantities are quantities that are derived from basic quantities.

Principal amount
The basic amount consists of seven items, namely as in the following table.
Long
Long is the distance between two points in space. According to SI quantities, this length is expressed in units meters. So, you need to know that distance, height, width, depth, diameter and circumference are length quantities.
Measuring instrument that can be used to measure lengths include: ruler, caliper And screw micrometer.
Mass
Mass an object is the amount of substance the object contains. According to SI units, the unit of mass is
kilogram (kg). Measuring instruments that can be used to measure mass quantities are balance sheet (scales).Time
The SI unit of time is expressed as second or second. The units of time commonly used daily are as follows:
a. 1 minute = 60 seconds
b. 1 hour = 60 x 60 seconds = 3,600 seconds
c. 1 day = 24x 3,600 seconds = 86,400 seconds
The tool used to measure units of time is watch And stopwatch.
Strong Electric Current
That is the amount of electric charge that flows through one point in an electrical circuit per unit time. The unit of electric current strength according to the SI is amperes. The measuring instrument that can be used to measure the strength of electric current is Ammeter.
Temperature
It is a measure of the degree of hotness or coldness of an object. The SI unit of temperature is Kelvin. A tool that can be used to measure the temperature of an object is called thermometer.
Light intensity
The unit of light intensity is candela. Candela is the light intensity of a light source that emits manochromatic radiation at a frequency of 540*1012 hertz with a radiation intensity of 1/685 watt per Steradran in that direction. The measuring instrument for measuring the intensity of light is lux meter or candle meter.
Amount of Substance
The unit of quantity of a substance in the SI is molecule. The amount of this substance is not measured directly, but by measuring the mass of the substance first.
Derived Quantity
Some derived quantities can be seen in the following table.
Wide, is a derived quantity obtained by multiplying two length quantities.
Volume or fill, is the amount of space used by an object. Just like area, volume is also a derivative of a basic quantity, namely the product of three length quantities.
