The various types of muscles in the human body include:
Smooth muscle
Consists of smooth muscle cells that are spindle-shaped, enlarged in the middle and pointed at both ends. The number of nuclei is only one and is in the middle of the cell. This smooth muscle is an involuntary muscle because it works outside of our awareness without orders from the brain.
Smooth muscles are found in the walls of internal organs such as the intestinal walls, genital tract, blood vessels and excretory tract. The way these smooth muscles work is very slow, regular and doesn't get tired easily. Even when we are resting.
Striated Muscle
These striated muscle cells are shaped like tubes or cylindrical and have many nuclei. If viewed using a microscope, you can see that there are alternating dark and light parts, giving the impression of striations.
This muscle is also called the transverse muscle. Because it is attached to the skeleton, it is called skeletal muscle. This muscle is often called a voluntary muscle because it works according to the will and orders of the brain.
Muscle fibers gather into muscle bundles, and these fibers are essentially muscle cells. Voluntary muscles that continuously contract will cause tiredness and exhaustion.
Therefore, rest is needed to restore fitness. Our muscles can be trained through regular exercise so that our muscles become stronger, supple and flexible.
Cardiac muscle
This is a special muscle. This muscle is composed of striated muscle fibers that branch. This heart muscle works continuously, is involuntary so it is also called an involuntary muscle and does not need rest time.
