Gallbladder Function: Structure, Composition and Process of Bile Formation
Gallbladder Function: Structure, Composition and Process of Bile Formation – What are the functions of the gall bladder? On this occasion Seputartahu.co.id will discuss it and of course other things that also cover it. Let's look at the discussion together in the article below to understand it better.
Gallbladder Function: Structure, Composition and Process of Bile Formation
The gallbladder or also gallbladder (Gallbladder) is a pear-shaped organ that can store approximately 50 ml of bile which is needed by the body for the digestive process.
In the human body, the length of the gallbladder is around 7-10 cm and has a dark green color, This is not because of the color of the tissue, but rather because of the color of the bile fluid it contains. This organ is connected to the liver and also the duodenum (duodendum) via the bile duct.
The gallbladder produces around 600-1200 ml of bile per day. Under normal circumstances, 97% of this bile fluid is water.
Gallbladder Structure
In the structure of the gallbladder, there are 3 (three) protective layers or coverings of the gallbladder, including the following:
- The outer surface is visceral peritoneum
- The middle part is a wall consisting of smooth muscle fibers. The contraction of this muscle is influenced by the body's hormonal system and also has the function of releasing bile into the duodenum.
- The inner surface is a mucous membrane consisting of simple cylindrical epithelial cells.
The body of the gallbladder is divided into several parts, namely, as follows;
- Fundus Vesicafelea, is the final part of the gallbladder.
- The corpus (body) of the Vesicafelea, is a part of the gallbladder which contains bile. The amount of fluid produced in one day is around 600-1200 ml. The amount of production can increase when the body is digesting fat.
- The neck of the gallbladder itself is the channel through which fluid/bile enters the corpus vesicaphelea.
- The cystic duct is a duct that forms the bile duct, also known as the choledochal duct along with the hepatic duct. The length of this channel reaches about 3 cm.
- Hepatic duct, is a duct that comes out of the bile duct and together with the cystic duct it forms the bile duct (Choledoccal duct).
- The choledochal duct (bile duct) is the duct that carries bile to the duodenum (duodenum).
Composition of Bile Sap/Bile Fluid
Below is the composition or constituents of bile fluid, including the following:
- 97 % Water
- 0.7% Bile Salts
- 0.2% Bile Pigment
- 0.06% Cholesterol
- 0.7% Inorganic salt
- 0.15% Fatty Acid
- 0.1% Lecithin
- 0.1% Fat
- The rest is Alkli phosphatase
Bile Formation Process
This bile comes from the destruction of old or damaged erythrocyte hemoglobin. The hemoglobin will then be broken down into hemin, iron and globin. Iron and globin will be stored in the liver and sent to the bone marrow to become the main ingredients for the formation of new red blood cells.
Heme (hermine) will be broken down into bilirubin and biliverdin. These two substances are substances that give color to bile fluid so that the bile fluid is green and blue. The dye will undergo an oxidation process to become urobilin. After that, urobilin is excreted out of the body through feces and urine. This substance is what gives feces and urine a yellowish color.
Functions and Benefits of the Gallbladder
The function of the gallbladder will always be related or related to the function of the bile fluid it stores, so we will explain several functions of the fluid/bile juice:
Helps the fat digestion process
Fat is insoluble in water, so only bile can digest fat. When food enters the duodenum (duodenum), hormonal signals and nerves in the gallbladder are triggered is triggered, then it will cause muscle contractions so that the bile will go down into the duodenum to be able to digest food the.
Helps the process of fat absorption
Bile sap has the function of helping the body absorb fat by facilitating its passage through cell membranes.
Helps with waste removal
Pigment resulting from the breakdown of red blood cells and cholesterol are components that are not needed and can also be dangerous for the body's health. For this reason, these components are removed from the body with the help of bile fluid.
Cholesterol removal is done by binding cholesterol and lecithin to form a small aggregation called micelle which will then be removed by means of feces.
Helps remove toxins from the liver
Bile contains antioxidants that can eliminate toxins. Components such as drugs, bacteria or viruses that the body cannot accept will be filtered by the liver, then the liver will send them out via bile.
