Understanding Domains and Hosting According to Experts – Nowadays we are familiar with technology, because everyone now uses technology. Understanding Domains
Domains are a unique name intended to identify the name of a computer server such as an email server or web server on an internet or computer network. Domain names also function as a means to make it easier for internet users when accessing a server, besides that, they can also used as a reminder of the name of the server to be visited without having to go through a number of quite complicated strings of numbers called addresses IP. Understanding Hosting
Hosting or what people often call webhosting is a place to store a number of online data in which there are various formats such as images, text or video so that all this information can be accessed or visited by many people person. In summary, you could say that a number of databases for a domain are stored on hosting. It can be likened to a data file and hard disk on a computer, where the data file is the domain and the hard disk is the hosting. An example of one hosting is pasarhosting.com.
Briefly, the difference between domains and hosting is explained like this. A domain is an address that is often used to go to a location for data, files or information. Meanwhile, hosting is the space on a computer server that is used to place data, files or information.
Domain Levels
Domains have several levels, here are the explanations:
TLD or Top Level Domain
TLD or Top Level Domain is a sequence of words located behind a domain name, such as: .com (dotcommercial) .net (dotnetwork) .org (dotorganization) .edu (doteducation) .gov (dotgovernment) .mil (dotmilitary) .info (dotinfo). Top Level Domains or TLDs also consist of two types, namely: Country Code Top Level Domain or cc TLD And Global Top Level Domain or gTLD. ccTLD is a TLD used for each country according to the country that uses it, for example Indonesia with its code, namely ID, the ccTLDs used include .co.id, .net.id, .or.id. Or Singapore, where the SG ccLTD code used is .com.sg, .net.sg, etc.
SLD or Second Level Domain
SLD or Second Level Domain is the domain name that we choose and register as our address. For example alloverknowledge.co.id, as far as I know is the SLD and the TLD is .co.id.
Third Level Domains
Third Level Domain is the name that is located before the domain name or SLD that you choose. For example, the domain name we chose earlier, namely alloverknowledge.co.id, then we can add the Third Domain Level to mail.seputartahu.co.id or estrex.seputartahu.co.id.
