Definition of return vessels or veins
Veins or veins are vessels whose function is to carry blood to the heart. The blood that is carried contains a lot of carbon dioxide. Generally located near the surface of the body and appear bluish. Types of Veins
In general, there are two types of veins or veins. That is:
Upper Large Vein (superior vena cava)
The upper large veins function as recipients and transporters of blood from the upper parts of the body, namely the head and arms.
Lower Large Vessel (inferior vena cava)
The large lower veins have the function of receiving and transporting blood from the middle to the lower parts of the body, namely the trunk and legs. Apart from the vena cava, the veins are divided into four types of veins, namely:
Pulmonary Veins
This type of vein functions as a container for blood containing oxygen that is inhaled by the lungs and then carried by these veins to the heart. This vessel is also called the pulmonary vein, which is divided into two types of pulmonary veins. Namely the left pulmonary vein and the right pulmonary vein.
Vena Cava
This type of vein has the function of carrying blood in the human body to the heart in the right atrium. The vena cava is also called the systemic vein. There are two types of vena cava vessels, namely the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava.
Superficial Veins
Superficial veins are a type of vena cava vein which is located under the skin and is not close to arteries. These vessels are also called Cutanea. Usually, if someone has blood taken to check blood sugar, cholesterol, etc., the cutaneal vein is punctured.
Deep Veins
