Understanding Social Solidarity
Social solidarity is an emotional and moral feeling that is created in relationships between individuals or groups based on mutual trust, common goals and ideals and also the existence of solidarity and feelings together.
In the KBBI, solidarity is the quality (feeling) of solidarity, the nature of one feeling (same fate), the feeling of loyalty to friends that members of a group are obliged to have. And social is related to society, requires communication in supporting efforts, development, likes paying attention to the public interest.
According to Durkheim (in Lawang, 1994: 181). Social solidarity is a condition of relationships between individuals and/or groups that are basic of moral feelings and beliefs held together and strengthened by emotional experience together.
Solidarity can be formed because there are various similarities in race, ethnicity and the same feelings make them have a strong desire to improve conditions and the surrounding area and environment so that they can slightly improve the conditions around them by helping each other, especially in matters development.
Types of Social Solidarity
According to Durkheim, there are two types of social solidarity that develop in society, namely:
Mechanical Social Solidarity
Mechanical social solidarity is a system of communication and also ties between people who have the same feelings, have the same tendencies, and more people dominated by uniformity or homogeneity, and if there are missing members of society, then it does not have a major influence on the community group the. This solidarity is often found by ordinary people.
The characteristics of a society with mechanical solidarity are characterized by the presence of collective consciousness, where they have the awareness to respect obedience because of religious values. which is still very high, the level of society is still simple, community groups are spread out, in general each member can carry out the role played by another person. On the other hand, the underdeveloped division of labor and repressive punishments which are explained by insults to the collective consciousness make the power increase among they.
Organic Social Solidarity
Organic social solidarity is a form of solidarity that binds society in a complex manner, namely a society that recognizes a detailed division of labor and is united by interdependence part.
Each member carries out different roles, and is interdependent as in the relationship between biological organisms. This organic solidarity is often found in urban communities.
Several characteristics or characteristics of organic social solidarity are relationships related to the creation of work efficiency in society.

Group Affirmation
Social solidarity is formed because of the existence of social groups. Each member of a social group has different personality traits. This is the influence of the confirmation of their respective work areas.
This affirmation will give rise to reciprocal relationships between group members, creating unique relationships within social groups. The strength of these group relationships results in the same interactions in the internal group, even these group relationships create a different pattern in the outside group.
In Group and Out Group
In-group feelings are related to the ins and outs of the business, people who are understood and members' experiences in group interactions. Meanwhile, out groups are businesses and people who are not included in the in group. Feelings towards this group are attitudes towards people within the group, while feelings towards the out group are attitudes towards people outside the group.
