Understanding Nationalism
Nationalism is an ideology created to maintain sovereignty in a country that has shared goals and ideals for the national interest. 1. Civic Nationalism (Civic Nationalism)

2. Ethnic Nationalism or also Ethnonationalism

3. Romantic Nationalism
It is a form of ethnic nationalism where the state perceives political truth as natural or organic and also an expression of a nation or race. 4. State Nationalism
Nationalism is a variation of civic nationalism which is often combined with ethnic nationalism. Meanwhile, state nationalism means a nation is an association that contributes to the maintenance and strength of the state. An example of state nationalism is Italian fascism which adheres to Mussolini's slogan, namely Tutto nello stato, nulla contro lo stato, niente al di fuori dello stato (all are within the state, none is against the state, none is outside country). It is not surprising that nationalism runs counter to the ideals of individual freedom and the principles of liberal democracy.
5. Cultural Nationalism
Nationalism is a country where there is political truth and a shared culture and also does not have hereditary characteristics, for example skin color, race and language. For example, the Chinese people consider a country based on a shared culture. The element of race has been put aside so that minority groups are considered Chinese people where the sadness of the Qing Dynasty was to use Chinese customs and also prove its integrity Chinese culture.
6. Religious Nationalism
Nationalism is where the state can gain political legitimacy from religious equality. An example is the spirit of nationalism from Ireland which originated from Hinduism. However, for most nationalist groups, religion is only a symbol and not the main motivation.
