Threats to Pancasila
In the history of the Indonesian nation's struggle, Pancasila has repeatedly received threats, both from within and outside the country. Threats from within the country originate from behaviors that are contrary to values Pancasila, as well as various efforts that want to replace the state basis of Pancasila with the basis and ideology another.
The threats from abroad are in the form of the influence of life and ideology of other nations. Threats to Pancasila can be grouped into two parts, namely physical threats and non-physical threats.
Physical threats in the form of acts as well as armed uprisings trying to replace the ideology of Pancasila. Here are some physical threats that have occurred in Indonesia.
- The DI/TII movement in West Java in 1949 led by S. M. Karto Suwiryo, he proclaimed the NII (Indonesian Islamic State) on August 7, 1949.
- The DI/TII movement in Central Java led by Amir Fatah in 1951.
- The Kahar Muzakar rebellion in South Sulawesi in 1952.
- The RMS (Republic of South Maluku) rebellion in 1950 led by Dr. Soumokil.
- Free Aceh Movement (GAM).
- OPM Movement (Free Papua Organization).
The non-physical threat to Pancasila is the influence of the ideology or ideology of communism and capitalism. Both of these teachings are very much contrary to the soul and values of Pancasila.
Positive Attitude towards Pancasila
First, The One Almighty God. This means the Indonesian people's recognition of the existence of God as the creator of the world and everything in it. God as prime power. Therefore, as people who believe in God, they naturally have to obey God Almighty.
Second, is respect for fellow human beings regardless of ethnicity and language. As human beings we are equal before God Almighty. This is in accordance with Just and Civilized Humanity.
Fair and Civilized means that fair is equal treatment of fellow human beings, and civilized means that equal treatment is in accordance with the degree of humanity. On the basis of this treatment, we respect human rights in balance with their obligations.
Thus the harmony between rights and obligations is the embodiment of a just and civilized humanity. Fair in this case is a balance between rights and obligations. It can be said that rights arise because of obligations.
Third, the Indonesian nation upholds national unity. It is in this unity that harmonious cooperation can be fostered. In this connection, we place the unity of Indonesia above our own interests. Sacrifice for the benefit of the nation takes precedence over sacrifice for personal gain.
This does not mean that private life is denied. As people who fear God Almighty, personal life is the main thing. However, this does not mean that for the sake of personal interests, the interests of the nation are sacrificed.
Fourth, is that our life in society and as a state is based on a democratic system. The democracy adopted is Pancasila democracy. This is in accordance with the fourth precept, namely democracy led by wisdom in deliberations/representation.
In the context of implementing democracy, we prioritize deliberation. Deliberations are not based on majority or minority power.
