The Human Digestive System: Definition, Anatomy of Organs and Their Disorders – How is the Human Digestive System?, On this occasion About the knowledge.co.id will discuss it, covering the anatomy of the organs and of course other things that also cover it. Let's look at the discussion together in the article below to better understand it
The Human Digestive System: Definition, Anatomy of the Organs and Their Disturbances
The digestive system is a system that assists in digesting the food consumed so that it is easily digested by the body which is useful for producing energy for all members of the body.
Food that is absorbed in the form of nutrients is assisted by enzymes to break down complex molecules into simpler molecules so that they are easily absorbed by the body.
Anatomy of Human Digestive System Organs
The anatomy of the human digestive system consists of several important organs whose job is to distribute and digest food through the channel we know as the digestive tract. The digestive tract (Gastrointestinal) is a long channel starting from the mouth to the anus.
We are familiar with the organs in the digestive tract, such as the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and anus.
Here's an explanation of the 8 organs in the human digestive system:
Mouth
Chewing in the mouth initiates the digestive process that occurs in the human body. The chewing process assisted by the teeth and various enzymes in the mouth helps food to be easily broken down, before being pushed by the tongue into the next human digestive system.
Throat
The next organ of the human digestive system is the throat or what is commonly called the pharynx. After the throat, food then travels to the esophagus and enters the stomach. When in the throat, food can enter the respiratory system incorrectly, causing choking.
Esophagus
From the throat, food goes to the esophagus which is shaped like a tube and has a lot of muscles. With a system called peristalsis, food slides from the esophagus into the stomach.
Stomach
The digestive system organs of the stomach produce many enzymes and acids that help process food. When it comes out of the stomach, the form of food becomes like a paste or liquid which is more easily absorbed by the body.
Small intestine
The small intestine has three parts, namely the duodenum, jejunum and ileum. The duodenum has the main task of continuing the process of processing food using enzymes originating from the pancreas and liver. While the main task of the jejunum and ileum is to absorb nutrients in the food consumed.
Colon
After the small intestine, food enters the next organ in the human digestive system, namely the large intestine. In this organ, water in food scraps will be absorbed so that the consistency is denser before entering the rectum and anus. Leftover food usually takes up to 36 minutes to be in the large intestine.
rectum
The rectum is like a room that connects the large intestine and anus before food waste is expelled. When leftover food enters the rectum, the nervous system will send a signal to the brain to know whether the stool will be expelled.
anus
The anus is the last door before faeces are removed from the human digestive system. The anal organ consists of muscles that keep feces from coming out prematurely. The anal muscles also prevent spontaneous defecation.
Disorders of the Human Digestive System
- Diarrhea: form of liquid stool due to peristalsis that is too fast and lack of absorption of water by the large intestine. The causes include stress, spicy food, certain pathogenic microorganisms.
- Constipation: difficulty in the process of defecation (bowel movements) due to too much water being absorbed by the large milk. The reason is less consumption of fibrous foods.
- Appendicitis: inflammation of the appendix. The cause is leftover food that is trapped and cannot get out of the appendix (worms) so that over time the appendix will rot until inflammation arises that spreads to the intestine dead end.
- Stomach Ulcers: damage to the mucus defenses as a protector of the stomach wall so that digestive enzymes (stomach acid/HCl) irritate the surface of the stomach. The cause is a certain bacterial infection.
