Definition of the Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution is a radical and rapid change in human development in making work equipment to increase production or industry output. The Industrial Revolution took place between 1750-1850 which saw major changes in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, transportation and technology and also have a profound impact on social, economic and cultural conditions in this world.
This industrial revolution started from Great Britain (England), then targeted throughout Western Europe, North America, Japan, and spread throughout the world. In short, the definition of the Industrial Revolution is a change in the way of producing goods that uses all human power to switch to machine power.
Industrial Revolution Process
In the late Middle Ages, cities in Europe developed into centers of crafts and commerce. The townspeople (the bourgeoisie), who here are free-spirited citizens, are the backbone of the city's economy. They compete freely in advancing the economy.
The growth of handicrafts into an industry through several processes, including:
Domestic System
This process is known as the home industry stage. The workers do the work in their own homes with the tools they have, even the handicrafts are obtained from the entrepreneur which after completion is handed over to him.
Salary workers are given according to the number of items worked. With this method, employers who own businesses only pay workers on the basis of performance or results. Employers are not preoccupied about workplaces and wages.
Manufacturing
As the industrial craft continues to progress and develop, a special place is needed to work so that the employer can properly monitor the way of work and the quality of its production.
A manufactur (factory) with a lot of labor was built and often behind the employer's house. The house in the middle is for residence and the front is a shop to sell their products.
The relationship between employers and workers is closer because the workplaces are combined into one and the number of workers is still small. The goods that are produced are sometimes still based on orders.
Factory System
In this process industrial work is done by machines. Place in a predetermined industrial area, can be inside or outside the city. The place is for work, while the employer lives elsewhere.
The same goes for shops where industrial products are marketed elsewhere. The number of workers has also reached tens, even hundreds of people. Produced goods to be marketed.
