Definition of Nasti Movement in Plants and its Types – Plants can move without us knowing it and without us noticing it. Because of its slow movement, humans rarely pay attention to it and are not aware that it has moved.
Plants can move under the influence of stimuli, but some do not require stimulation. We can observe its movements every day and when we are careful we can find patterns of its movements.
Definition of Nasti Movement in Plants and its Types
The nasti plant movement is one of the plant movements. The meaning of this plant movement will be explained as follows.
Meaning of Nastya
Nasti is a movement of plants whose direction of movement is not affected by existing stimuli. The movement of this plant is caused by the movement of the turgor contained in the tissue in the leaf veins. Nasti movement in this plant is divided into 5 types according to the group.
Kinds of Nasty Movements
Nasti movements in plants have several types which will be explained as follows:
1. Tigmonasty
Thigmonasty or seismonasticity is a nasti movement that will occur due to stimulation in the form of touch. An example of this nasti movement is when we touch the leaves of the shy daughter plant, then that touch will send a stimulus to the base of the leaf and give the order for the leaves to close.
2. Niktinasti
Nyktinasti is a nasti movement that occurs because of the influence of darkness. An example of this nasti movement is when the leaves of the Leguminoceae family plant leaves in the evening day, movement that occurs due to changes in turgor pressure found in plant propulsion cells the.
3. Photonasty
Photonasti is a nasti movement that occurs due to the influence of existing light stimuli. An example of this nasti movement is when flowers bloom at four in the morning and there are flowers that bloom at nine in the morning.
4. Thermonasty
Thermonasty is a nasti movement that occurs due to the received temperature stimulus. An example of this nasti movement is the blooming of tulips in spring.
5. Nasty Complex
Complex Nasti is a movement that occurs due to the combination of all kinds of nasti such as photonation, chemonation and hydronasty when the movement mechanism of the stomata has been affected by the arrival light. An example of nasti movement is the process of opening and closing stomata in plants.
