We need to know that citizens contain the meaning of participants, members, or citizens of an organization or a group. Citizen means citizen or member of a country. Residents can also be interpreted as members or participants. So, the meaning of citizen in a simpler way is a member of a country.
The term citizen is a translation of the word citizen which has the following meaning:
- Citizen;
- Directions of a city;
- Homeland people, fellow citizens, fellow residents, ;
- Subordinates or subordinates.
According to As Hikam In 2004, citizen is a translation of the word citizen which means "a member of a community that forms the country itself".
The term Citizenship means membership which indicates a relationship or bond between the state and its citizens. Meanwhile, according to the explanation contained in article II of the Closing Regulations of Law No. 62 of 1958 concerning Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia, Citizenship means all things related to a country which result in the obligation of that country to protect people who are concerned. Meanwhile, the meaning of citizenship according to the Citizenship Law of the Republic of Indonesia is all matters relating to the state.
Definition of Citizenship
The definition of citizenship can be divided into two, namely:
Citizenship in a sense juridical And sociological.
In the sense juridicalCitizenship is characterized by the existence of a legal bond between people and their country. The existence of this legal bond can lead to certain legal consequences, namely that the person is under the authority of the country concerned. Signs of the existence of this legal bond include: birth certificate, proof of citizenship or KTP, statement letter etc.
While in meaning sociological, citizenship is marked by emotional ties, such as feelings, homeland ties, heredity, destiny etc. Or in other words, this bond was born from the appreciation of the citizens of the country concerned.
Citizenship in a sense formal And material.
In the sense formal citizenship places on the meaning of the place of citizenship. And in the legal system, the issue of citizenship is in public law. While in meaning material, citizenship places on the legal consequences of citizenship status, namely the existence of rights and obligations of citizens.
Citizenship owned by a person causes that person to have legal ties with the country and be subject to the laws of the country concerned and a person who already has citizenship does not allow him to fall into the power or authority of another country, because he already has legal ties with his country.
