Definition of Folders
Folders is a digital program on a computer or personal computer (PC) that is useful for storing various kinds of files (both data in the form of text, photos, videos, etc.) in it. With a folder, it's easier to separate files of the same type or with the same extension. For example, music files, documents, photos, videos are separated using folders. So when we need the file we don't need to be hard to find it, just look for the folder that was created before.
Folders are permanently installed in the operating system on a computer or laptop. Usually, to indicate a folder, there is an icon depicting a yellow bag or briefcase symbol. Another name for a folder is directory. Directory languages are usually used on computers based on DOS and Linux.
Folders Function
Folders are used to store documents or files. Inside the folder can store other file types, such as applications, photos, archives, videos and other file types. And inside the folder can also be added folders and subfolders.
Folder function is also to organize files. For example, when we have some digital photos, we can save the photos in the "Pictures or Picture" folder, if we have files such as mp3, midi, we can create an "Audio or Music" folder to save it, and if we have files in typed form, excel data, letters we can make a "Documents" folder for save it. Folders can contain up to several gigabytes of data. We can see how much data capacity is stored in one folder by right-clicking on the folder and then selecting it "properties" when using the Windows operating system, if using the Linux operating system you can select it by right-clicking GetInfo.
How to Create Folders
How to create a folder on the Windows operating system is as follows:
- Enter Windows Explorer or simultaneously press Windows key + E on your keyboard
- Select the desired drive to create the folder, for example C drive
- Mouse over an empty space, right-click, select New, then select Folder
- There will be a new folder on drive c with the name "New Folder", we can name the new folder the easiest way, right click on the folder, select Rename and fill in the name in want

Another way to create a folder other than the drive is directly from the laptop or computer desktop:
- Open the computer, then turn it on
