√ 14 Examples of Renewable Natural Resources
14 Examples of Renewable Natural Resources- On this occasion About Knowledge explain about Natural Resources. Which in this discussion discusses several types and examples of renewable natural resources briefly and clearly. For more details, please see the following.
14 Examples of Renewable Natural Resources
The definition of renewable natural resources is a type of natural resource (SDA) that will not run out due to can be produced or produced by nature continuously so that it can be utilized by humans over and over again.
Another opinion says that the definition of renewable natural resources (renewable resources) namely natural resources that can renew itself or have a quantity that does not finite. So SDA can be used continuously.
In a sense, natural resources can be produced or reproduced in a relatively short time, both naturally and with human assistance through engineering processes.
Renewable Natural Resources
Based on their origin, natural resources can be divided into two types. There are 2 (two) types of renewable natural resources as follows:
Biological Natural Resources (Biotic)
Biological natural resources (biotic) are natural resources whose sources come from all living things in nature. The following are examples of biological natural resources, including:
Plants
Plants are multicellular eukaryotic organisms that belong to the kingdom Plantae. Most plants can produce their own energy (autotrophs) with the help of sunlight energy through the process of photosynthesis.
Plants have a very important role for human life, namely as a source of food. Natural resources from plants can be produced in a relatively short time. Both naturally and with human assistance through the cultivation process.
There are many types of plants that can be used as a source of food for humans. Among them: rice, wheat, vegetables, fruits, nuts, tubers and so on.
Animal
Animals, also known as fauna or animals, are a group of organisms that belong to the kingdom animalia or metazoa.
Animals can be divided into two types, namely wild animals and pets. Wild animals are animals that live in the wild and survive by utilizing food sources that exist in nature. Meanwhile, pets usually rely on food provided by humans.
Here are some types of animals that are beneficial to humans, both as a source of food and other needs.
Among others, such as: Cows, Goats, Fish, Snakes, Birds, Insects and others.
Microorganisms
Microorganisms or microbes are organisms that are very small (microscopic) so that a microscope is needed to observe them. Microorganisms are often single-celled or multi-celled.
Microorganisms are natural resources that are very important and beneficial to humans. Microorganisms are used for various human needs, ranging from the fields of health, industry, environment, to food manufacture.
Here are some microorganisms that are utilized by humans for various needs;
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae is used to ferment bread and make tape.
- Penicillium Notatum is used to make the antibiotic penicillin.
- Monascus Purpureus is used to make food-safe dyes.
Non-Biological Natural Resources (Abiotic)
Non-living natural resources (abiotic) are natural resources that are sourced from natural elements that have no life. In other words, non-living natural resources, namely natural resources that come from non-living things.
The following are some examples of non-biological natural resources:
Sunlight
Sunlight is a natural resource needed by all living things, especially humans. For humans, sunlight can be used for various needs, ranging from lighting, health, and use as an alternative energy for electricity generation (solar panels);
Water
Water is a renewable natural resource that is always needed by humans for various activities. Water sources can come from rivers, lakes, and also the sea.
In addition to survival needs, humans also need water for other purposes. For example transportation facilities, hydroelectric power plants, recreation, and so on;
Land
Soil is the top layer of the earth's crust which is formed from the weathering of organic matter and naturally broken rocks. Soil is used as a medium for plants in agriculture and plantations because it contains the nutrients needed by plants.
In addition, soil also contains various minerals and metal types produced by nature. These minerals and metals can be used by humans as raw materials in industrial activities;
Air
Apart from water and soil, air is a very important element for human life and other organisms on earth. Air contains oxygen that living things need to breathe.
Air is a renewable natural resource and the amount is very large. In addition to survival needs, humans also use air as an alternative energy source, namely wind power plants;
Geothermal
Geothermal is heat energy that is found and formed in the earth's crust. The temperature under the earth's crust increases with depth. Geothermal is also known as geothermal and has several functions for humans.
There are many benefits of geothermal for human life, namely as a power plant, as supporting the agro-industrial sector, for household and industrial needs, for the tourism sector and etc.
Wave
Waves are deep waves that are generated in the ocean from the ups and downs of seawater waves. The fact is that waves or sea waves are also natural resources that are renewable and have the potential as an energy source.
There are many benefits of waves for human life, namely as a source of energy, as a generator electricity, maintaining a stable air temperature, helping gas exchange, as a support for water sports and etc.
Biomass
Biomass is any living or recently dead biological material that can be used as a source of fuel or for industrial production. Usually biomass refers to plant matter for biofuels, but can also include plants and animals for chemical production.
There are many benefits of biomass for human life, namely as a source of energy, as a material biofuels, improve water quality, reduce air pollution, minimize organic waste and etc.
Biofuels
Biofuel is any solid, liquid or gaseous fuel produced from organic materials. The term biofuel is also known as biofuel. Biofuels can be produced directly from plants or indirectly from industrial, commercial, domestic or agricultural waste.
There are many benefits of biofuel energy for human life, namely as an unlimited source of energy, as a fuel for vehicles, as a producer of environmentally friendly energy and others.
Ups and down
Tides are energy generated from sea tides and turning it into energy in another form. Currently, its utilization is not widespread due to the high initial cost and the limited locations that have sufficient ups and downs.
There are many benefits of tidal energy for human life, namely as a source of energy, as power plants, as water transportation, as a support for water sports, as a livelihood and etc.
Rock
Stone is a solid or solid object made naturally from minerals and or mineraloids. Earth's solid outer layer, the lithosphere is made of rock. There are many types of rocks that exist with various shapes, colors, functions and characteristics.
There are many benefits of stone for human life, namely for building materials, for construction purposes, for room interior materials, to increase energy, for health purposes, for industrial and basic materials etc.
Sand
Sand is one of the granular materials which are generally under 2 millimeters in size. The material that forms sand is silicon dioxide, generally formed from limestone and is often found in tropical and subtropical coastal areas near the oceans.
There are many benefits of sand for human life, namely as a building material, as a glass-making material, as a material for making ceramics, as a material for making metals and others.
Thus a brief explanation about 14 Examples of Renewable Natural Resources. Hopefully it can be useful and add knowledge to all of us. Thank You.
