Definition of Integer
The set of integers is the set of numbers consisting of the positive or natural numbers, zeros, and negative numbers. Usually, integers are denoted by B. For example: B= {…, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3…}
Kinds of Integer Numbers
Integer consists of several things, including:
a. Real Numbers
Namely a number consisting of positive integers starting with the number 1. Usually this natural number is denoted by a letter A. For example: A = 1, 2, 3,….
b. Zero Numbers
That is a neutral number, neither positive nor negative. Zero is symbolized by 0.
c. Negative Numbers
Negative numbers (negative integers) are numbers that are smaller or less than zero. Or it can also be said the number that is located to the left of zero on the number line. For example: {-1, -2, -3, -4,…}
d. Count Numbers
This whole number consists of positive integers starting from zero. Usually whole numbers are denoted by letters C. For example: C = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4….
e. Odd numbers
Odd numbers consist of numbers that are not divisible by two. Odd numbers are denoted by letters J. For example: 1, 3, 5, 7, …
f. Even number
An even number is a number that is divisible by 2. Even numbers are denoted by letters G. For example: G= 2, 4, 6, 8, …
g. Primes
A prime number is a number that has only two factors, namely the number 1 and the number itself. Prime numbers are denoted by letters P. For example: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, ...
h. Composite Numbers
A composite number is a number that consists of numbers that are neither 0 nor 1, nor are they prime numbers. For example: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, ...
