Definition of Self Potential
The word potential is an absorption word from English, namely potential, which means two words namely: ability, energy and strength, possibility. Then according to KBBI (Big Indonesian Dictionary) the meaning of potential is an ability that has the possibility to be developed, strength, ability, power. According to Majdi (2007:86) Potential also means something that can be developed.
Another definition of potential according to Wiyono (2006:37) is the basic ability of something that is still hidden within it waiting to be manifested into something real power within something the.
With some of the definitions above, human potential is a fundamental ability that exists in human beings still hidden inside him waiting to be realized into a real benefit in his own life man.
Potential Types
According to Nashori (2003:89) Potential has several types, namely:
Thinking Potential
Humans have the potential to think. God often tells people to think, then think. Logically, people are only told to think because they have the potential to think. So it can be said that each human being has the potential to learn from new information, associate various information, and also generate new thoughts.
Emotional Potential
Emotional potential or affective potential means that each human being has a taste potential, with which humans can understand other people, understand the voice of nature, want to love and be loved, pay attention and be cared for, value and be appreciated, tend to beauty.
Physical Potential
There was a time when humans had extraordinary potential to make effective and efficient physical movements and also had strong physical strength. People who have talent in the physical field can learn sports quickly and always show good games.
Social Potential
People who have great social potential have the capacity to adapt and influence others. The ability to adapt and influence others based on their learning abilities, both in terms of knowledge and skills.
Characteristics of Self Potential

When people want to do self-development in order to utilize and optimize all abilities to achieve performance superior, there are several ways to find out, assess or measure accurately the various strengths and weaknesses as following:
Self Introspection (Individual Measurement)
In this way, each individual takes the time to evaluate what he has done, what he has achieved and what he has as an advantage that can support and what he has as a deficiency that hinders achievement tall. This method is effective if the individual is honest, open to himself, willing and serious about paying attention to his conscience.
Feedback from Others
In this way, people ask for input in the form of information or assessment data about themselves from other people.
