1. Police

The police are social control institutions whose job is to maintain public order and security. The police are law enforcement officers who are tasked with enforcing social rules/norms. The customary court is a social control institution that exists in people who still hold strong customs. Customary institutions are tasked with supervising or controlling citizens who violate customary norms. Punishment for violators of customary norms can be in the form of fines or expulsion from the environment of the indigenous peoples concerned.

Community leaders are community leaders, both formal and informal. They are characterized because they have influence or authority or charisma in front of their people. Community leaders can play a role as social control institutions over their community members. For example, by educating, advising, guiding, fostering, reprimanding, and so on, so that members of society adhere to the values ​​and norms that apply.

The mass media is also effective for controlling the social life of society. Moreover, the mass media has wide coverage, so it can
control the behavior of leaders and citizens. The mass media can also shape public opinion so that it influences the attitudes and opinions of citizens about something.

Students are often referred to as actors of social control. Student demonstrations to sue government leaders and officials who violate legal norms to the detriment of the people and the state are one example of social control.

    Education is the most effective way for someone to know, understand and at the same time practice the system of values ​​and norms that apply in society.
  • Religion
    Religion is the foundation that is taught to us so that we always maintain good relations between humans and fellow human beings. This good relationship will be realized by carrying out God's commands and staying away from His prohibitions. That way we will avoid social deviant behavior.
