Requirements for Obligatory Hajj, Pillars, Types and Procedures
Requirements for Obligatory Hajj, Pillars, Types and Procedures – Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. It feels incomplete if this one pillar of Islam is not fulfilled. However, not everyone can perform the pilgrimage. Only for people who are able, both materially and physically.
For people who are able but before leaving for the holy land have died or passed away, then the pilgrimage can be invalidated. Hajj itself literally means to visit or purposely.
Requirements for Obligatory Hajj, Pillars, Types and Procedures
The term Hajj comes from Arabic which means pilgrimage or visiting the Baitullah with the intention of lillahita'ala worship which is carried out in ways that are in accordance with the rules. The following will explain the obligatory requirements of Hajj and pillars of Hajj.

- Freedom (Not a Slave or Servant), and
- Capable, the term is able to mean able to carry out the Hajj.
What is meant by being able to perform Daji worship is in terms of:
Physically (physically):
Healthy, strong, and able to carry out the pilgrimage physically.
Spiritual:
- Know and understand the rituals of Hajj.
- Have common sense and good mental readiness to carry out the pilgrimage with a long journey.

- Not hindered, for example getting the opportunity or permission to travel for Hajj including getting the current year's quota, or not experiencing any restrictions.
- For women it has to be with her husband or with a mahram or with another woman who has a mahram.
Pillars of Hajj
This is an activity that must be done during the pilgrimage. If it is not done, then the pilgrimage is canceled or invalid. The pillars of Hajj as follows:
-
Ihram namely, performing the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage using a white ihram shirt without seams with the intention of Hajj or Umrah in the miqot.
There is a lafaz that must be pronounced, namely:
"Labbaik Allahumma labbaik, labbaik laa syariika laka labbaik, inna al-hamda, wa ni'mata laka wa al-mulk. Laa shariika laka."
Meaning: "I come O Allah, I come to fulfill your call, I come, you have no partner, me come, verily all praise, all pleasures, and the whole kingdom belong to You, without partners for you.” - Wukuf silent, dhikr and pray at Padang Arafah on the 9th day of dzulhiyyah from sunset until dawn on the 10th day of dzulhiyyah.
- TawafIfadhah namely, circling the Kaaba 7 times and stoning the Aqobah in Dzulhijjah on the 10th.
- Sa'i namely jogging between the hills of Shofa and Marwah seven times, starting from the hill of Safa and ending on the hill of Marwah.
- Tahallul namely cutting or shaving the head of hair at least three strands of hair.
- Orderly that is done sequentially.
Types of Hajj
The following are the types of pilgrimage along with their explanations.
- Hajj ifrad, it means to be alone. The implementation of the Ifrad Hajj is called when someone intends to isolate, either isolating or separating the Umrah and Hajj. In this case, pilgrimage takes precedence. Namely, when wearing ihram on his miqat, a person intends to perform the first pilgrimage. After the pilgrimage is complete, the person uses ihram again to perform umrah.
- Hajj end ', having a pleasant or relaxing feeling by performing Umrah in the previous month – the month of Hajj, is another tahallu. Then Ihram again for Hajj, same year. Tamattu' can also mean practicing one's religion in the same month and year, without first returning to one's country of origin.
- qiran hajj, combine methods, unify or mitigate. What is meant here is uniting or makeihram and carrying out Hajj and Umrah. Hajj Qiran is carried out by wearing ihram clothes from the miqat eat and implementing all the pillars and obligatory Hajj until it is completed, although it may take a long time. According to Abu Hanifah, performing the Qiran pilgrimage means performing two sa'i tawaf twice and two.
Hajj Procedures
After knowing the terms and pillars of the pilgrimage, it would be nice to know about the pilgrimage, let's look at the procedures for the pilgrimage, including the following:
- Prior to the 8th of Dzulhijjah, all pilgrims begin performing the Hajj tawaf at the Grand Mosque (Makkah).
- The 8th day of Dzulhijjah (Day of Tarwiyah) is referred to as the day of tarwiyah, because pilgrims prepare supplies enough to go to Mina and Padang Arafah, because those two places have no sources water.
- All pilgrims enter ihram to perform the pilgrimage, starting with bathing, wearing perfume, wearing ihram clothes, and reciting the hajj talbiah.
- Departing for Mina and after being in Mina, the congregation performs Zuhur, Asar, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr prayers. Each prayer is performed on time, but the prayer which is four cycles is recited so that it becomes two cycles. The congregation remains in Mina until sunrise on the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah.
- In the morning of the 9th of Dzulhijjah, all the congregation left for Padang Arafah to stay silent and pray at Padang Arafah until Maghrib arrived.
- The obligatory provisions of standing when performing Hajj are narrated by
- Anyone who performs wukuf at that time, even for a short time, is considered to have performed wukuf, and his pilgrimage is valid. Anyone who does not perform standing at that time has an invalid Hajj.
- On the 9th night of Dzulhijjah, all congregations go to Muzdalifah to mabit (stay the night at Muzdalifah) and pick up a sufficient number of stones to throw.
- On the 9th of Dzulhijjah at midnight or after performing the mabit, all pilgrims continue their journey to Mina to hold the jumrah.
- On the 10th of Dzulhijjah, worshipers perform the 7x jumrah ritual at Aqabah Jumrah as a symbol of expelling demons. Then proceed with tahalul, namely shaving the hair or some other hair.
- If the congregation takes the early nafar (separation time), then they can continue their journey to the Grand Mosque for the Hajj Tawaf or perform the Hajj.
- Whereas if the congregation takes their last breath, the congregation will remain in Mina and continue by removing a number of connections, namely the number of 'Ula (11 Dzulhijjah) and Wustha (12 Dzulhijjah).
- The procedure for the last pilgrimage is that the pilgrims return to Mecca to carry out the wada tawaf, namely the farewell tawaf before returning to their respective countries. Women who are menstruating are prohibited from doing tawaf wada.
Thus the discussion this time about Requirements for Obligatory Hajj, Pillars, Types and Procedures, on another occasion we will continue more deeply about the pilgrimage. Hope it is useful. That is all and thank you.
