In the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) the definition of an essay is a prose essay that discusses a problem in passing from the author's personal point of view.

In other words, an essay is a written work in the form of an opinion or opinion of a person on a problem that is currently being discussed or attracts the attention of the essayist.
