The Importance of Prayer for Muslims in Islam
The Importance of Prayer for Muslims in Islam - Assalamualaikum! In this discussion, I will thoroughly examine how the importance of prayer for us as Muslims, with the aim that my Muslim brothers are Muslim, believers and believers still don't care about prayer so that you will immediately know and realize how much it is a loss to live without pray.
Then what is expected after passing through life in the world which then begins life in the grave, whereas when his life in the world he ignores prayer? And what else can we wait for on the day of qiyamat or after we live in the afterlife if a Muslim doesn't want to pray?
It means: "Life is only to serve Allah in every time and condition.”
This is the message from my parents that I always remember, and they always teach me to always remember death whenever, wherever, under any circumstances and doing anything. Because we never know when death will come. Are our prayers and morals correct?
Are we ready to face the Khaliq? Remember friends... Life in this world is temporary, like a journey we only stop by for a while eat and drink to increase energy so that it is stronger and arrives safely to the destination, namely in the afterlife.
The Importance of Prayer for Muslims in Islam
I am here to share a little knowledge from what I got from my beloved father and at the same time my great teacher who I always honor, be proud of, respect and whom I respect. He wrote about the importance of prayer which was nuqil from the Al-Qu'an, the yellow book Mukhtashar Tadzkiroh Al-Qurtubi (Qurrotul-Uyun) and the yellow book Lababul-Hadith.
The Basics of Proof and Hadith about Prayer
Some of the arguments and hadiths are:
♦ Q.S. An-Nisa: 103 * Which mean: "Verily, prayer is a fardhu whose time is determined for those who believe “.*♦ Q.S. Al-Maa'un: 4-5 * “So woe to those who pray, (ie) those who are negligent in their prayers “. *
♦ Q.S. Maryam: 59 * “Then come after them a (bad) substitute who wasted prayer and followed his desires, then they will later meet astray “.*
♦ Ibn Abas RA said: “Wail is the abyss of Jahannam Hell, Jahanampun asks for splashes from the heat of Wail Hell, and Wail Hell is a place for people who like to end prayer times“. (Al-Qurtubi p. 1)
♦ The Prophet SAW said:

It means: "Something between a Muslim and a polytheist is a person who leaves prayer, so if he opposes prayer it is the same as an infidel“.
It means: "Whoever has neglected prayer, then Allah will punish him with 15 kinds of torments, 6 torments in the world, 3 torment when approaching death (sakarotul maut), 3 torments in the grave, and 3 torments when leaving nature tomb“.
Kinds of Torment For Leaving Prayer
The following are the kinds of torment that will be obtained for those who leave prayer during their lifetime.
Six kind of torment What Allah will give to people who leave prayer while still alive in the world are:
- Allah will remove the blessings from his age;
- The sign of piety will be removed by Allah from his forehead;
- All his deeds will not be rewarded by Allah;
- Allah will not raise his prayer to heaven;
- All creatures in the world will be angry with him;
- He will not get his share of prayers from pious people.
Three kinds of torment what Allah will give to those who leave the prayer when death is near is:
- That the person who leaves the prayer, he will die in humiliation;
- He will die hungry;
- He will die thirsty, even though the water in the world's oceans he drinks will never relieve his thirst.

Three kinds of torment that God gives when in the grave, namely:
- Allah will narrow his grave and squeeze it until his ribs fall apart;
- In his grave the fire of hell will be lit, then the person who leaves the prayer day and night, he will be roasted and turned back and forth on the coals of fire;
- Allah will spill a snake named syuja'al-aqro' to those who leave the prayer, where the two eyeballs are made of hellfire, the nails are of iron, each nail is as long as a journey that takes a day, the snake said to her:"I am syuja'al-aqro' (his voice is like lightning striking and booming)", and the snake said: " My Lord has ordered me to beat you for leaving the Fajr prayer at noon time, and to beat you for leaving the midday prayer at Asr time, and to beat you for leaving the evening prayer at sunset, and to beat you for leaving the evening prayer at evening, and to beat you for leaving evening prayer dawn “. When the snake hit him one time, the one who was hit went into the ground seventy cubits deep, then the snake dug in its nails underground and then take it out again, and the torment will not stop until the Day of Judgment, so we ask Allah for protection from grave punishment.
And as for three torments What Allah will give on the Day of Resurrection for those who leave prayer are:
- Allah will unite him with those whose faces are dragged to the hell of hell;
- Allah will look at him with hatred when he is being judged, so the flesh of his face will fall;
- Allah will take him to account with a very heavy reckoning, there is no use for it from excess anything forever, and Allah commands him to go to hell as ugly or as despicable as he is place.
And the words of the Prophet SAW:

It means: "Prayer is your scale and measure of your measure, if you uphold it then you will be safe and if you reduce it you will be tortured“.
There are still many hadiths that explain the importance of prayer, but that's all I will write about in this article, hopefully my brothers and sisters in faith are always under His protection and never neglect or leave prayer, as we know that prayer is pillar of religion.
Hopefully an article about The Importance of Prayer for Muslims in Islam be useful and continue to increase your prayers more humbly and don't end the prayer time so that we are safe and get protection later on the Day of Judgment. Amen 🙂
