The Understanding of Faith in Allah's Book and Its Wisdom (Complete) – Faith in the book of Allah is the third pillar of faith. It is obligatory for us to believe as his servant. Apart from knowing how the law is to believe in the book of Allah, you can also find out the wisdom of having faith in the book of Allah.

Let's discuss carefully the meaning of faith in Allah SWT and the wisdom of having faith in the book of Allah SWT.

The Meaning of Faith in the Book of Allah

God's Book comes from the Arabic language kataba yaktubu kitabatab kitaban. Where the meaning is writing. The meaning of the book of Allah, seen from its terms, is an inscription in the form of revelation on sheets collected in one book form. In the direction it is explained that the word of God is written in two forms, namely in the form of suhuf and mushaf. Both come from the same root sentence, namely sahafa or writing.

Anything shuuf or shifa has the meaning of a sentence written on a material such as leather, paper, papyrus, and other media. While Mushaf or

masahif which means collections of uhuf put together, like two covers in one content. The term faith in the book of Allah means trusting and placing Allah SWT in the hearts of Allah SWT by sending down books to His messengers which contain His prohibitions, commands, promises and threats. It also makes God's book as a guideline for human life, so that it can distinguish between good and bad, right and wrong, lawful and unlawful.

The Proof of Faith in the Book of Allah

Faith in Allah's book contained in the QS. An-Nisa 4:136.

“O you who believe, keep believing in Allah and His messenger and in the book that Allah sent down to His messenger, and the book that Allah sent down before”. (QS. An Nisa/4: 136)

Then in the letter there is a difference between the book and the suf is:

  1. The contents of the book are more complete than the Suhuf.
  2. The book is recorded while the Suhuf is only in the form of sheets (not recorded).

There are also a total of 100 Suhuf, with details as follows:

  1. 50 Suhuf was revealed to the Prophet Syits a.s,
  2. 30 Suhuf was revealed to the Prophet Idris a.s,
  3. 10 Shuff revealed to Prophet Ibrahim a.s,
  4. 10 Shuff revealed to Prophet Musa a.s,

We are obliged to have faith in the existence of books mentioned by the name Suhuf. The suf contains lots of advice. Allah SWT said:In fact, all of this is actually contained in the first surah (namely) the suhuf of Prophet Ibrahim a.s. and Prophet Musa a.s.” (QS Al A'la 18-19).

Faith In Allah's Books

As expressed by Imam Nawawi al-Bantani in the book Nuruzzalam explained that each mukallaf (those who have been burdened by law) or who have reached puberty are obliged to believe 4 divine books which were revealed to the prophets include:

Bible

The Torah was revealed to Prophet Musa as, written in Hebrew. The Torah contains sharia (law) and true belief in God. The main content of the Torah is the 10 words of God for the Israelites.

Book of psalms

The Book of Zabur was revealed to the Prophet David as, containing psalms (praises to Allah in Qibti). This book does not contain any new Shari'a, because the Prophet David was ordered to follow the Shari'a that had been brought by the Prophet Musa. The Zabur book also contains remembrance, prayer, and advice. The argument for the existence of the Psalms is the following word of God.

Scripture

As we know that the Bible was revealed to Prophet Isa as, written in Suyani language by the disciples of Prophet Isa. The argument for the existence of the Bible is the following word of God.

“and We gave him (Isa) the Gospel in which (there is) guidance and light (illuminates)”… (QS Al Maidah/5: 46).

The Book of the Koran

Yes, the Koran is the holy book of Muslims which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, written in Arabic which is is a collection of words given by God as a unified book and as a guide for life for all people man. The Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a period of 23 years. Al-Qur'an is a book that there is no doubt in it. Always guarded from mistakes, and is a guide in forming human piety.
This is in accordance with the word of Allah SWT:

“There is no doubt in this Book (Al-Qur'an), a guide for those who fear Allah”. (Qs Al-Baqarah/2:2)

The Wisdom of Faith in the Book of Allah

By believing in Allah's books we will get the following wisdom and benefits:

  1. Strengthen the level of faith in Allah SWT.
  2. In the Al-Quran are all the answers that cannot be answered by science and reason so that our lives do not go astray.
  3. Increase knowledge, because the Qur'an besides containing commands and prohibitions also contains the main points of all science.
  4. Maintain our piety to Allah to stay away from His prohibitions. And life will be orderly.
  5. Fostering an optimistic attitude to achieve happiness and success in the afterlife, in order to get intercession in the hereafter.
