Definition of Adjectives
Adjectives or in English Adjectiva is a class of words that change nouns and pronouns, often by explaining or making it more specific. These adjectives can describe the quantity, adequacy, sequence, quality, or emphasis of a word.
The definition of an adjective (adjective) is a word used to describe the nature or condition of a thing, whether in living things, inanimate objects, place of time and others. In a sentence, adjectives are usually used to describe the condition of the subject (S) or object (O) of the sentence.
Function of Adjectives (Adjectives)

According to its meaning, adjectives are divided into two, namely graded diphats and ungraded adjectives.
Graded Adjectives (Declare Quality)
There are several types of graded adjectives, namely:
- Characteristic adjective. That is an adjective that describes the quality or intensity that is assessed physically or mentally. For example, clean, tidy, comfortable.

- Absorption Adjective. That is an adjective that shows something that can be felt by the five senses. Examples such as: Bitter, sweet, sour, smelly.
Ungraded Adjectives
Ungraded adjectives are adjectives that describe membership in a group, for example: Eternal, round, and others.

Types of adjectives according to syntax or location/function in sentences, include:
- Attribute adjective. Namely adjectives that have a function as a complement or clarify in a sentence. If this type of adjective comes after the subject, it is often a description of that subject.

Types of Adjectives According to Their Forms
Basic Adjectives
Basic adjectives are original adjectives that do not undergo a process of affixation (addition) and cannot be decomposed into simpler forms. Some examples of basic adjectives include: Beautiful, New, Many, Tall, Few, Old and others.
Derivative Adjectives
Derivative adjectives (Polifermis) are adjectives that have undergone a process of affixation (addition of affixes), repetition/reduplication, compounding, and absorption. In general there are four groups of derived adjectives or adjectives, namely:
1. Derivative Adjectives That Experience Affixation
