Definition of Obesity

Obesity is the accumulation of too much fat in the body so that the body weight is beyond the ideal limit. Another definition of obesity is an abnormal condition of excessive fat accumulation that can interfere with health.

Generally obesity is caused by increased intake of energy with a lot of fat content and decreased physical activity as a result of changing social and environmental patterns such as changing jobs, means of transportation and urbanization increase. Excessive and increased energy intake over time will accumulate and cause obesity.

Causes of Obesity

Obesity can occur when a person consumes high-calorie foods. Obviously consuming foods that have high calories is not a problem if it is in accordance with the activities undertaken every day.

  • Hyperplastic and Hypertropic Types

Factors Affecting Obesity

There are factors that influence obesity, including:
