The difference between the Book and the Shuf: Definition, Types and Explanations
In its development, God's revelations received by the Apostles were recorded in book form and there are also those that are not recorded or in the form of temperature, namely sheets that are separated.
However, both contain the same word of God given to the Prophets and Apostles.
Suhuf: Revelation of Allah SWT that was conveyed to the Apostles, but still in the form of separate sheets.
Book: Revelation of Allah SWT which was conveyed to the Apostles in the form of a book/book. The contents are more complete than the standard contents.
The statement which states that this Sufuf is true is the Word of Allah SWT as follows:
"Indeed it is in the books of old, (which are) the books of Abraham and Moses." (QS Al-A'la/87:18-19)

There are 4 types of books that Allah has sent down to the Prophets and Messengers, including the following:

Bible
The Torah is one of the books of Allah SWT which was revealed to Prophet Musa as. This book was revealed with the aim that it could be used as guidance and guidance for the Children of Israel.
The word Torah comes from the "Hebrew" language, namely Thora which means instruction. As in the Al-Qur'an letter Al-Isra 'verse 17:
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ نُوحٍ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًۢا بَصِيرًا
Meaning: "And how many people after Noah We destroyed. And sufficient is that your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Seeing of the sins of His servants."
In the Torah there are 10 main teachings that contain beliefs and worship. Among the 10 main contents are as follows:
- Don't lie
- Don't kill
- Don't be obscene
- Don't steal
- Respect your mother and father
- Say Allah's name with reverence
- Worship only Allah
- Don't take other people's stuff.

Book of psalms
The Zabur is the book of Allah which was revealed to the Prophet David as. Zabur itself comes from Arabic which is known as the plural psalm from the word mazmir.
As Allah SWT says in the Al-Qur'an Al-Isra verse 55
وَرَبُّكَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَا لْاَ رْضِ ۗ وَلَقَدْ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَ النَّبِيّٖنَ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ وَّاٰتَيْنَا دَاوٗدَ زَبُوْرًا
Meaning: “And your Lord knows best who is in the heavens and on earth. Indeed, we have given advantages to the Prophets over some others, then we sent down the Book of Zabur to the Prophet David As.
The Psalms were revealed as:
- The straight path guide for the people of the Prophet David As.
- As good news that this earth is inherited by pious (faithful) servants of Allah SWT.
- To give a warning so that humans have no reason to deny the existence of Allah SWT.

Scripture
The Bible is the book of Allah SWT which was revealed to the prophet Isa .As. The core teachings of this Bible are:
- Invitation to the people of the prophet Isa. As in order to live with zuhud.
- To be used as a guide, and
- In order to straighten out the views of the Jews who have a materialistic nature.
But there is something you need to know that the Bible was revealed by Allah to Prophet Isa. As with the Bible today is different.
In ancient times a Christian named Matthew who was a follower of Prophet Isa. As, has entered his essay into the Bible.
So they named the Bible according to its author, among the names of the books are the Gospel of Marcion, the Gospel of Mathias, the Gospel of Hebrews and so on.

The Holy Qur'an
Al-Qur'an is the word of Allah SWT which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW gradually, through the angel Gabriel as a Miracle.
The Qur'an was revealed to the people of the Prophet Muhammad as a guide and guide for life. As Allah SWT says in Q.S Al-Hijr verse 9:
اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَاِ نَّا لَهٗ لَحٰـفِظُوْنَ
Meaning: "Indeed we have sent down the Qur'an and we are also guarding it".

Suhuf is a revelation from Allah SWT which was sent down to the Prophets, but it is not obligatory to convey it to his people.

- Prophet Musa had 10 temperature
- Prophet Adam had 10 temperature
- The Prophet Abraham had 30 temperature
- Prophet Idris has 30 temperature
- Prophet Syits has 60 temperature
Conclusion: So when combined there are 140 temperature that Allah SWT sent down to the Prophets.
As in Q.S Al-A'la verse 19
صُحُفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَمُوْسٰى
Meaning: "Suhuf are the books of the Prophet Abraham and Prophet Musa".
The difference between the Book and the Suf
In the Al-Qur'an, the term book has been explained approximately 198 times, while the suff has been explained approximately 6 times.
The differences and similarities between the book and the Suhuf are as follows:
- Shuff was not recorded, while the Qur'an was recorded.
- The contents of the book are more complete, while the temperature is incomplete.
- Suhuf is not required to be conveyed to the people, while the book must be delivered to the people.
