Hajat Prayer: Definition, Virtue, Intentions and Procedures – What is Hajat Prayer and what are the procedures? On this occasion About the knowledge.co.id will discuss it and of course other things that also cover it. Let's look at the discussion together in the article below to better understand it.

Hajat Prayer: Definition, Virtue, Intentions and Procedures

Hajat Prayer is a sunnat prayer that a Muslim performs when he has a certain wish and wants to be granted by Allah. Hajat prayers are performed between 2 and 12 cycles with greetings in every 2 cycles. This prayer can be performed at any time except during times that are prohibited for prayer.

In language, the meaning of the word حَاجَةٌ: Necessity, while in general the meaning of hajat prayer is one of Sunnah prayers are performed to ask Allah SWT for their needs or needs granted.

Hajat prayer is always exemplified by friends, they do the hajat prayer and then pray to Allah SWT even in small things.

As Rasulullah Shollallahu 'alayhi wasallam taught to ask Allah SWT for wishes;

لِيَسْاَلْ أَحَدُكُمْ رَبَّهُ حَجَتَهُ حَتَّى يَسْاَلَهُ الْمِلْحَ وَحَتَّى يَسْاَلَهُ شِسْعَ نَعْلِهِ إِذَاانْقَطَعَ

It means:

"Let one of you always ask Allah for his needs, even when he asks for salt, even when he asks for the strap of his sandal when it breaks." (HR. Tirmdzi; Hasan)

Just imagine that Rasulullah Shollallahu 'alayhi wasallam also taught his friends to ask for hajat and his needs to Allah SWT even though all he asked for was salt and a rope to tie his sandals separated.

But if the need and desire is felt great, the Prophet taught not only to pray to ask for it to be granted his needs, but he taught him to do sunnah prayers two rak'ahs, what is meant is sunnah prayers wish.

The Virtue of Hajat Prayer

Fadhilah or virtues that are obtained by people who often uphold sunnah hajat prayers, among the many virtues, the following are the virtues of hajat prayers and their fahilah:

  • Allah Loves Him

Allah says:

"Whoever is hostile to my guardian, I really declare war on him. My servant does not come closer to Me with something that I love more than the things that I oblige him to. My servant does not stop approaching Me with sunnah worship until I love him." (HR. Bukhari).

  • High Degree

Allah says:

“You should increase your prostration (pray more) to Allah. Because you do not increase your prostration for Allah, but Allah will raise your rank and erase your sins” (HR. Bukhari).

  • His Sins Are Forgiven

Forgiveness of sins is due to the closer a servant is to Allah, one of the facilities of getting closer to Allah is by upholding prayer, by praying hajat then the servant will be forgiven.

The prayer that is recited is full of requests for forgiveness from Allah, so by praying the prayer of intent my sins will be forgiven

  • His wish was granted

One of the virtues of carrying out the hajat prayer is that his wish is immediately granted by Allah.

Rasulullah said:

"Whoever performs ablution and perfects it, then prays two cycles of prayer perfectly, Allah will give him whatever he asks for, whether sooner or later" (HR. Ahmad).

The number of cycles of Hajat prayer

Many may ask, how many cycles of prayer is the intention?

Hajat prayer is a sunnah prayer, which is the same as other sunnah prayers.

In essence, hajat prayers are performed as many as two cycles at least and the most cycles in hajat prayers are 12 cycles. Every two cycles ends with a greeting.

The intention of Hajat Prayer

As doing all acts of worship, it must begin with an intention, such as the hadith of the Prophet, namely “اِنَّمَا الْاَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَةِ…” which means that charity depends on the intention.

It should be noted that intention is something that is not spoken verbally, because intention is pronounced in the heart. The intention of hajat prayer is as follows:

Reading the Intention of Hajat Prayer

اُصَلِّى سُنَّةَ الْحَاجَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ لِلهِ تَعَالَى

"Usholli sunnatal-haajati rok'atayni lillahi ta'aala".

The meaning of "I intend to pray sunnah hajat two raka'at because of Allah Ta'aala"

After knowing the intentions of the Arabic and Latin Prayers and their meanings, they should be memorized and understood so that it will make it easier for you when you want to carry out the Hajat prayers regularly.

Procedure for the Hajat Prayer of the Prophet

The hajat prayer has the same prayer procedures and conditions as other sunnah prayers, such as the Tahajud Prayer and the Dhuha Prayer.

As for before performing the hajat prayer, you must be clean from small and large hadats, cover your genitals, clean your body, clothes and place of prayer from uncleanness & face the Qibla. Following are the Procedures for Hajat Prayer.

  • Procedures for Hajat Prayer in the First Rak'at:
    • Intend
    • Takbirotul ihram, followed by reading the iftitah prayer
    • Read Surah Al-Fatihah
    • Read a letter in the Koran
    • Ruku tuma'ninah
    • I'tidal (getting up from bowing) in tuma'ninah
    • Tuma'ninah prostration
    • Sit between two prostrations tuma'ninah
    • The second prostration is tuma'ninah
  • Procedures for Hajat Prayer in the Second Rak'at:
    • Stand up for the second rak'ah
    • Read Surah Al-Fatihah
    • Reading Surahs in the Quran
    • Ruku' in tuma'ninah
    • I'tidal (getting up from bowing) in tuma'ninah

The steps are the same as when performing the obligatory prayers, only the intention is different.

That's the procedure for praying hajat that you must know before performing it, knowing the procedure is knowledge, so you want to know the knowledge first and then do good deeds.

Hajat Prayer Prayer

If you have finished working on the sunnah hajat prayers, don't forget to read the dhikr and the hajat prayers. Read the reading of the hajat prayer with full solemnity, which begins with reading istighfar. The following is the order of prayer after the Hajat prayer.

  • Read Istighfar

In the book Tajul jamil-lil-ushul it is recommended to read istighfar 100 times, namely:

اَسْتَغْفِرُاللهَ الْعَظِيمِ

“Astaghfirullahal-‘adzhiim”

It means :

"I ask forgiveness from Allah, the Greatest/Most Great"

Or even more complete like this:

اَسْتَغْفِرُاللهَ رَبِّي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَاَتُوبُ اِلَيْهِ

“Astaghfirullaha Robbii min kulli dzanbin wa atuubu ilayhi”

It means :

"I beg forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from my sins and I repent to You"

  • Read Sholawat Prophet

After reading the istighfar, continue again by reading sholawat on the Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alayhi wasallam 100 times, while the reading is:

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّى عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَاةَ الرِّضَا وَارْضَ عَنْ اَصْحَابِ الرِّضَاالرِّضَا

"Allahumma sholli 'alaa muhammadin sholaatar-ridhoo wardho 'an ashaabir-ridhor-ridhoo"

It means :

"O Allah, give the gift of welfare to our lord Prophet Muhammad, the welfare that is blessed and blessed from all the friends"

Meaning :

“There is no God but Allah, the Most Forbearing and Gracious. Glory be to Allah, the Lord, the keeper of the Supreme Throne. All praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. It is of You that I ask for something that requires Your grace, and something that earns Your forgiveness, and gains benefit in every sin. Do not allow sin from me, but You forgive and there is no interest unless You provide a way out, and there is no need that is willing to accept You, but You grant it. O God, the Most Compassionate and Merciful” (HR. Tirmidhi and Ibn Abu Aufa).
