Understanding the Pancasila Economic System
The Pancasila economic system is an economic system in which there is the soul of the Pancasila Ideology which has the principle of kinship and mutual cooperation. The Pancasila Economic System gives freedom to citizens to try or build economic businesses with certain limitations and conditions.
This Pancasila Economic definition appeared in 1967 in Dr.'s article. Emile Salim. The Pancasila Economic System stated by Emil Salim is simple, namely a market economic system with planning.
Which means that the market mechanism must be allowed to run in the midst of a planned economy. The form of government intervention is needed when the market fails to help the poor. According to him, an economic system is usually closely related to the ideology that is used as a role model for a country. The country that adheres to the Pancasila economic system is Indonesia.
In Wikipedia, Pancasila Economy is an economic system based on the five precepts of Pancasila. Furthermore, the Pancasila economy is a concept of economic policy, after experiencing a clockwise movement from left to right, until it reaches a balance point.
To the right means to be free to follow market regulations, while to the left means to experience state intervention in the form of central planning. Simply put, the Pancasila Economic System is a government-controlled market economy system or a controlled market economy.
Characteristics of the Pancasila Economic System
In the 1945 Constitution Article 33 and GBHN chapter 3 B No. 14, there are characteristics of the Pancasila economic system, namely:

- The economy according to the principle of kinship is structured as a joint venture
- Resources which include land and water as well as other natural wealth contained therein are controlled by the state which aims to be used as much as possible for the prosperity of the people.
- The state controls the branches of production which are important for the life of the people
- The national economy is carried out with the principle of togetherness on the basis of economic democracy, efficiency, fairness, sustainable, environmentally sound, self-sufficient and maintaining a balance of progress and economic unity national
- Further provisions regarding the implementation of this article shall be regulated in law

Economic development determines that society must take an active role in development activities based on economic democracy direction and guidance must be given to the development of economic growth and create a healthy climate for world development business.
Also, there are five main characteristics of the Pancasila Economic Concept, including:
- cooperative development
- There is an equity commitment
- The birth of a nationalist economic policy
- Centralized planning
- Decentralized
Advantages of the Pancasila Economic System
The advantages of the Pancasila economic system include the following:
- Individual property rights are recognized and used in a way that does not conflict with the wishes of the community
- The initiative and creative potential of each citizen is fully developed as long as it is not detrimental to the public interest
- Citizens have freedom and determine the appropriate or desired job
- The economy is made as a joint effort on the principle of kinship
- Production branches which are important to the state and affect the interests of the people are controlled by the state
- Earth and water and the natural resources contained therein are controlled by the state and used as much as possible for the prosperity of the people
- The poor and neglected children are cared for by the state
Disadvantages of the Pancasila Economic System
There are negative characteristics that should be avoided in the economic system because they are contradictory to the values and personality of the Indonesian nation, namely:
- Free Fight Liberalism system, which fosters the exploitation of people and other nations
- In the etatism system, the state plays a very important role and also kills the potential and creative power of economic units outside the state sector
- The concentration of economic power in a group in the form of monopoly is detrimental to society.
