In the teachings of Islam, a believer is encouraged to pray at all times. Starting from waking up, eating, going to the bathroom. In all conditions and circumstances there are prayers that can be practiced. One of them is prayer in and out of the house. Humans are never out of danger, even at home. So it is recommended for a believer to read the prayer to enter the house when entering the house.

It is advisable to say hello when you want to enter the house. Saying hello will let the occupants of the house inside know that someone is outside. Besides greeting, you can also give a sign by clearing your throat or making a sound with your sandals or shoes.

Imam Ahmad said, "If a man wants to enter his house, it is advisable for him to clear his throat or stamp his sandals or his sandals." By greeting the goal is to pray for each other and spread love in the house, increase intimacy between someone and their family and get blessings and guarantees Allah.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ باسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلجْنا، وباسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنا، وَعَلى اللَّهِ رَبِّنا تَوَكَّلْنا

Allâhumma innî as'aluka khairal mauliji wa khairal makhraji bismillâhi walajnâ wa bismillâhi kharajnâ wa 'ala-Llâhi rabbinâ tawakkalnâ

• Get Blessing

Allah says in the letter An-Nur verse 61:

فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُيُوتًا فَسَلِّمُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ تَحِيَّةً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ مُبَارَكَةً طَيِّبَةً

Meaning: "So when you enter (a house from) houses (these) you should greet (its inhabitants) which means giving greetings) to yourself, greetings ordained from Allah, who are blessed and good." (QS. An Nur: 61).

Apart from the Al-Qur'an, it is narrated that the blessing of prayer entering the house is narrated in a hadith from Anas bin Malik's friend -radhiyallahu 'anhu-, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said to her,

يَا بُنَىَّ إِذَا دَخَلْتَ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ فَسَلِّمْ يَكُونُ بَرَكَةً عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ

Meaning: "O my son, if you enter the house and meet your family, say hello so that blessings will come to you and also to your family." (HR. Tirmidhi no. 2698. Al Hafizh Abu Thohir said that this hadith is dho'if. However, Shaykh Al Albani refers to his opinion and validates this hadith in Shohih Al Kalim 47).

• Avoid the devil's interference

Through Jabir bin 'Abdillah, the Prophet shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,

إِذَا دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْتَهُ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ وَعِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لاَ مَبِيتَ لَكُمْ وَلاَ عَشَاءَ. وَإِذَا دَخَلَ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ. وَإِذَا لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ وَالْعَشَاءَ

Meaning: "If someone enters his house and then he mentions the name of Allah when entering it, as well as when he eats, then Satan says (to his friends), "You don't there is a place to spend the night and no food rations.” When he entered his house without mentioning the name of Allah when entering it, Satan said (to his friends), "When Here you will find a place to spend the night.” When he forgot to mention the name of Allah while eating, then the devil said, "You get a place to spend the night and rations for dinner." (HR. Muslim no. 2018).

• Protected from all dangers

In a hadith it is narrated as follows:

عَنْ أَبِى مَالِكٍ الأَشْعَرِىِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « إِذَا وَلَجَ الرَّجُلُ فِى بَيْتِهِ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا ثُمَّ لْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ

Meaning: "From Abu Malik Al Asy'ari, he said that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "If someone enters his house, then say 'Allahumma inni as-aluka khoirol mawlaji wa khoirol makhroji, bismillahi walajnaa wa bismillahi khorojnaa wa 'alallahi robbinaa tawakkalnaa' (O Allah, I ask You for goodness when entering and leaving House. In the name of Allah we enter and in the name of Allah we leave and in Allah our Rabb we place our trust). Then let's say hello to his family." (HR. Abu Dawud no. 5096. Al Hafiz Abu Thohir).

Prayer Out of the House

Here are 3 sunnahs when leaving the house

• Do two cycles of prayer before leaving the house

بِسْمِ اللهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

"Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallah, laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billaah"

It means "In the name of Allah, I put my trust in Allah. There is no power and strength except with Allah."

• Raise your eyes to the sky when reading prayers outside the house

In addition to reading the prayer, the prophet also recommends that when leaving the house, first look at the sky and read the following prayer.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أُزَلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَىَّ

"Allahumma inni a-'udzu bika an adhilla awudara, aw azilla aw uzalla, aw azhlima aw uzhlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala 'alayya"

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from: I am lost, or I am misguided, or I slip, or I am slipped, or I am being wronged, or I am being wronged, or my stupidity or being fooled."

• Exit the house with the right foot first

After finishing reading the prayer to leave the house according to the Sunnah of the Prophet, it is recommended to put the right foot first. Because the right foot is to do all good things including the instructions of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.

When someone leaves the house, he will come out of his safe area. In addition, praying when leaving the house is a request for protection from all dangers. Danger of satanic temptations, disasters, human crimes and so on

Similar to the virtue of prayer entering the house. Prayers outside the house there are some lessons that can be obtained as follows:

• Protected from threats outside the home

Al-Munawi cites a very beautiful explanation from Ath-Thibi about this prayer,

فإذ استعاذ العبد بالله باسمه المبارك فإنه يهديه ويرشده ويعينه في الأمور الدينية وإذا توكل على الله وفوض أمره إليه كفاه فيكون حسبه {ومن يتوكل على الله فهو حسبه} ومن قال لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله كفاه الله شر الشيطان

Meaning: "When a servant seeks protection from Allah through His name which is full of blessings, then Allah will guide him, guide him, and help him to be facilitated in affairs religion. If a person puts his trust in Allah and surrenders his affairs to Allah, then Allah will suffice him. And Allah's bounty is sufficient for him, as in the verse (which means), 'Whoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice it.' While the person who reads laa quwwata illaa billaah, Allah will protect him from the evil of satan." (Faidhul Qadir, Al-Munawi, 5:123)

• Get his directions

إِذَا خَرَجَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ، قَالَ: يُقَالُ حِينَئِذٍ: هُدِيتَ، وَكُفِيتَ، وَوُقِيتَ، فَتَتَنَحَّى لَهُ الشَّيَاطِينُ، فَيَقُولُ لَهُ شَيْطَانٌ آخَرُ: كَيْفَ لَكَ بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ هُدِيَ وَكُفِيَ وَوُقِيَ؟

Meaning: Then it was conveyed to him, 'You were given instructions, your needs were met, and you were protected.' Instantly the demons were away from him. Then one of the demons said to his companion, 'How can you possibly interfere with someone who has been guided, provided for, and protected.'

• Get unexpected sustenance

وَّيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُۗ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهٗ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ بَالِغُ اَمْرِهٖۗ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدْرًا

Meaning: And He gave him sustenance from where he did not expect. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, Allah will fulfill his (needs). Verily, Allah carries out His affairs. Indeed, Allah has made provision for everything.

• God supplies the need

وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ

Meaning: "And whoever puts his trust in Allah, Allah will fulfill his (all needs). Verily, Allah carries out His affairs (what is desired)” (QS ath-Thalaaq: 3).
